Shtul Dhe - The first body
The human structure - Shtul Dhe - The first body, the exterior one.

Introduction

In order to reach a state of control and inner freedom, we must first learn and understand how the ’Self’ is structured. Only then, will we be able to find and experience the purity of our soul as a true, living part of us.
The knowledge presented here was communicated to us by Shibuji, in the summer of 1994, by the request of his Guru, Sri Brahma Gopal Bhaduri. Some of theterms were kept in their original Sanskrit, as part of the true sense of meaning is simply lost in the attempt to translate them [For instance, when mentioning an element, the word cannot be taken only literally; one must also consider its attributes, characteristics, the powers that unite the molecules of that element, etc].

Who am I? I am the master of three bodies
Analyzing the human structure, we recognize three different bodies -
Shtul Dhe - The first body, or the exterior one.
Sukshma Dhe - The second body, or the interior one.
Karen Dhe - The third body, or the gentle, causal one.

The First Body

The evolution of life on earth according to Yoga
All things in our universe are composed of the Five Elements – Ether, Wind [Air], Fire, Water and Earth. Everything in the macrocosm is also found in the microcosm. Our body, then, is also composed of the Five Elements, or "Panch Mahabhut. Combined with one another, they create 25 different qualities that are manifested in our physical and mental structure. If we learn to balance them, we will be able to control them.

What is the First Body?
The first body is the exterior body. The five elements, Panch Mahabhut, go through a process of convergence that is called, Panchi Krit Panch Mahabhut. Through this process the 25 qualities, or Tatvas, are created.

The Panch Mahabhut
Originally, the five elements did not take part in the process of creating the 25 Tatvas. In that state they were called – Apanchi Krit Panch Mahabhut. Only after entering the process of creating the 25 Tatvas, they became Panchi Krit Panch Mahabhut. The process itself is called Panchi Karan, which means creating a unique mixture of elements, converged in a specific ratio. In short, Panchi Krit Panch Mahabhut derives from the Panchi Karan. In order to go beyond the first, second and third bodies, we must go through the Panchi Karan process.
It was due to the will of the divine and the realization of the body in the world that the five elementsmerged with one another, creating the 25 Tatvas. How did it come about? Each of the five elements was divided into two parts, creating 10 parts. Then, one half remained pure, and the second half was divided into 4 parts, in the following way –

The table describes how each element is divided; for example, one part of the Ether remains free, while the other half is divided in four, each part combined with one of the remaining Elements – Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Ether, then, is actually composed of - 1/2 Ether in Ether, 1/8 Air in Ether, 1/8 Fire in Ether, 1/8 Water in Ether and 1/8 Earth in Ether. This way, each element is composed of 5 different combinations, each having unique attributes.

Each Element has unique traits that help us recognize the various Tatvas
 - Each part of the body with a hole - belongs to the Ether Element.
 - Each part that has the ability to move – belongs to the Air Element.
 - Everything connected with heat – belongs to the Fire Element.
 - All fluids in the body - belong to the Water Element.
 - Anything solid – belongs to the Earth Element.
